Inspection today of the roof wood sheeting. Now we will tar paper it and 'load the roof', meaning put the tiles on it for the weight so we dont have cracked plaster later. Almost ready to 'dry in' the house, I think that means to add the tyvek on the outside and sort of water proof the structure so that drywall inside can start.
Looking at the eating area with the kitchen behind it. Above is the deck off the master bath/bedroom. Low Tide
Detail of the roof of one of the balconies. Wood will be stained

Ben and Sadie coming down the hill.
On Dasher on Dancer......
Faster,faster!
What a great snowman. The soup can art was a great target for snowballs.
The first thing Paul does when is snows is "go into the siege mode" Build your fort, make a supply of snowballs and bring your 'snowball slingshot' out. Then entice the teenage boys next door into a war!
Talk to the Snowman.
Frosty and his creator.
Thanks Jeremy! The forest service had cut down some trees and left big rounds of them on the ground. Good firewood for next year.
Thursday morning these were the bear tracks outside the back door in the new snow!!
Hayden in his new snow digs!
Hey Eva, wanna race?
Eva looked like a little penguin.  She was happy to just stay there while Dad pulled her over the snow.
Thanksgiving was celebrated at the June Lake Cabin.  There was just enough snow the day before to have fun with snowmen, and snowball fights!

Sledding Cousins

Framing is almost done on the garage/guest bedroom. They are doing the roof and 'tails'. The main house is getting the second story.
This is the second floor of the house, the railing is the small deck off the master bedroom. You can jump off this deck at high tide and hit the water!!
I finished her Halloween costume and we tried it on. We don't know if she is a baby lion or a bear or a little brown mouse! She was so cute.
Dad kept her busy while Mom Cut Away those beautiful curls!
The Freise's came to play last week! Eva got her first haircut!

These are the beams for the ceiling in the kitchen and living room. They were hand distressing them in the garage. I never thought we would be involved with so many details.

Noren Place is coming along. This is the garage and carport (bottom) from the street. Above is the guest bedroom and bath.

WE have named the cabin! Actually this sign came from an apt building we bought years ago. we saved the sign when we painted the building and took the sign down. I had to assure the neighbors that we were not turning the cabin into a restaurant or hotel! Yosemite it on the other side of the mountain so maybe this is appropriate. I like it and it will make the cabin easy to identify!
Tom and I were at June Lake for 5 days last week. We see we have a squirrel living under the house. Here is his winter supply filling up a piece of rolled carpet. He's been eating next to it, notice the shells!
Hayden with his apple stick weapon!
Sadie's pink cheeks, it was over 90'.
Last weekend in Sept. I went with J&B and kids to Julien to pick apples. Sadie and Hayden had great fun. Here are a few pictures
I tried to get the movie that Jim took on the blog, but it is too long. It was a great take off and landing in the Breezy sitting behind Tom and getting live action.

We poured the foundation this morning. I can't believe it. Only 7 years after purchasing this property.
The trucks (10 of them) finished about noon, this is the house

Back in San Diego - Sadie loves her red wagon, thankyou for sharing with Eva
I finally get the doll house all to myself!
I think Eva sees Mom's ice cream...

Eva & Sadie have good taste in their clothes. The doll house kept them busy
An afternoon swim with your cousins, poor Eva, Hayden thought she was an easy target.

Lucky Peter, 3 toddlers come to your apt. and mess with your stuff! All Hayden needed were sticks and Sadie loved the swivel chair. We only stayed for lunch - whew!

We all fit (3 car seats,4 adults) into my little Volvo for the ride to LA - actually Hollywood!! is where Peter lives.

Julie & Eva came to visit SD while Dad was at the Democratic Convention in Denver for the week. We went to San Clemente for the beach and to visit Peter in Los Angeles

No, this isn't a picture from 1950. This is Julie's backyard, 2008. Those are cloth diapers on a clothesline! We have come full circle.
As you can see, there was a dangerous situation after the floors were finished - a big hole one could fall in. Jeremy and Tom put up a safety railing. Add a gate and Eva will have a safe area.

After the reunion, we were back in Seattle. Julie and Eva took a little break from the paint job in the new upstairs rooms.
Eva went to her first Train Reunion and drove the tractor ! She was a happy girl the whole day!

Tom and His sisters, Sue and Gail on the tractor.
The family picture on the hay wagon!
I presented my research on the Train Family - 8 months of work. A story of Swedish Immigrants homesteading in Kansas.
Salmon done over an open fire, wired onto a grill, Indian Style!

MMMMMMMM.... CHEESE!
Gouda, Muetchli, Jalapena,Farmstad......
Uncle George's contented Cows!

We are about ready to pour. I'm told it will be 12 trucks arriving 20 minutes apart. Poor neighbors!

apt party in the kitchen, Peter and Breanne
Little back door, outside tiny space for plants
Old hardwood floors, 1920 fireplace, nice closet in the living room
